OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade – 2025 A Proud Milestone

Introduction
In March 2025, a historic OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade (POP) at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Gaya, commemorated a momentous occasion in the academy’s evolution. The event heralded the 161 young cadets commissioned into the Indian Army, while OTA Gaya celebrated a significant milestone in its progression toward becoming a premier officer training institute in India.
A Grand Ceremony
The passing out was eventful, disciplined, and conducted with military precision, filled with the pride and honour that define the Army. The Reviewing Officer for this occasion was Lieutenant General R C Tiwari, commanding the Eastern Command, who shared the stage with Lieutenant General Sukriti Singh Dahiya, Commandant of OTA Gaya.
Speaking to the newly commissioned officers, Lieutenant General Tiwari emphasized leadership, integrity, and service to the nation as the three essential qualities of a great officer. He encouraged the young officers to uphold the long-standing traditions of the Indian Army and to always lead with honour and responsibility.
First SSC-Tech Batch Commissioned at OTA Gaya Passing Out Parade
This POP was unique as OTA Gaya commissioned its first-ever Short Service Commission (SSC) Technical course cadets. The batch consisted of 143 male cadets (SSC-Tech 62) and 18 female cadets (SSC-Tech 33). The commissioning of these officers highlights OTA Gaya’s growing prominence as an institution that not only trains soldiers in technical skills but also inculcates essential leadership qualities for Indian Army officers.
Emotional Piping Ceremony
One of the most emotional moments of the parade was the piping ceremony, where family members proudly affixed the officer insignia onto the cadets, marking their transformation from cadet to commissioned officer. This moment symbolized a rite of passage when a young individual steps into a greater responsibility of serving the nation.
